Also, be sure to constantly check the locator 3-5 days after your loved one is apprehended by immigration authorities because it can take a few days to process them into the database. Procedure

Attorney Armand Jawanmardi will orient you on what you can expect when he visits your loved one in the detention center. It is equally as important to inform the client as it is to inform the family and friends who are concerned about their loved one’s well-being. Once you feel comfortable and understand what to expect, we will make the visit to the detention center and review the client’s case and immigration history. At that time we will determine possible areas of relief that he or she can qualify for under United States immigration law.

For asylum and some withholding of removal cases, the client will often undergo a credible fear interview. For withholding of removal cases that involve re-entries into the United States after an order of removal, clients may undergo a reasonable fear interview. Many clients must pass their credible fear interview before receiving a bond from their deportation officer. If the bond is too high and you cannot afford to pay it, we can file a Motion for Bond Redetermination in which we ask the immigration judge to lower the bond amount.

If our client has not been given a credible or reasonable fear interview, or has not passed their interview but are still awaiting a court hearing, we can speed things up by filing a motion for a bond hearing (when the client qualifies for a bond) if one has not already been scheduled. Our first priority is to always get your loved one out of the immigration detention center so that he or she can fight their case freely. Often times we are able to help clients bond out of the immigration detention center and help them get a legal work permit while they are waiting for their court date.
